How We Calculate Cost: Formula pricing can be confusing â packages vary widely in size, and mixing ratios differ between brands, making it hard to compare costs at a glance. To level the playing field, we calculate the cost per 4 oz prepared feed for every formula based on the retail price of a standard package and the total fluid ounces it yields when mixed as directed. We then estimate a monthly cost based on 240 feeds of 4 oz each (960 fl oz total), which reflects an average intake for a fully formula-fed infant. These figures are approximate and will vary with retailer, promotions, and your baby's actual consumption.
